Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 14, 2026
Takt is a web analytics tool built to respect privacy. This policy explains what data is processed when you visit a site measured by Takt or use our service.
1. The data we process
Takt measures audiences without identifying people. For each page view, we process non-identifying information: the page URL, the referring site, the country (derived from the IP address, which is never stored), along with the device type, browser and operating system. None of this data, alone or combined, can identify you.
2. What we do not collect
To measure audiences, we use no tracking cookies, no persistent identifiers and no fingerprinting. We never store your IP address, never track people across sites and build no advertising profile. No data is ever sold or shared for commercial purposes.
3. How the data is used
Aggregated data is used solely to produce audience statistics (visitors, page views, sources, geography) for the site operator. It is never used to target, re-contact or re-identify a visitor.
4. Cookies and local storage
The measurement script sets no cookies. The dashboard uses only cookies strictly necessary for it to work: a session cookie (“takt_session”) that keeps you signed in for 30 days and, during sign-in through a third-party provider, a temporary cookie (“takt_oauth”) that secures the exchange. These cookies are HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax; they are never used for tracking or advertising. Because they are strictly necessary for the service you request, they are exempt from consent under the ePrivacy rules (and CNIL guidance) — which is why Takt shows no cookie banner. We also use your browser's local storage to remember display preferences (such as language), which stay on your device.
5. Hosting and processors
Takt is a hosted service: data is stored on servers located in the European Union. We embed no third-party trackers and never sell your data.
6. Data retention
Aggregated statistics are kept for as long as the operator needs to analyse their audience. No raw data enabling individual tracking is retained, since none is collected. A site's statistics are erased when the account or organisation that owns it is deleted (after a 90-day grace period).
7. Your rights
The GDPR grants you rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection. Because Takt processes no identifying personal data for audience statistics, such requests do not apply there. Deleting your account also erases the audience statistics tied to your sites. For data tied to your account, contact us (see below).
8. Security
Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS) and dashboard access is protected by authentication. We follow state-of-the-art best practices to protect account data.
9. Changes
This policy may change. Any substantial change will be announced on this page, with the date above updated accordingly.
